Jury's still out. Was cut up once in each direction. Second time I actually sat on my saddle waving at the Chinese lady who pulled out very slowly directly in front of me (I had right of way on the main road, of course), than knocked on her window when she stopped as now she wanted to turn back off the main road, and she just ignored me completely. At least she did it all extremely slowly.
next time, knock on her window with something metal and heavy.
A good keying of the car door would get her attention more than a polite knocking.
I've reached the point of intimidating cars.
The problem here in New Haven is that to be able to intimidate cars, they first have to be aware that there is anything else on the road other than them. Not easy.
I think you'd find cycling more enjoyable if you just lowered your expectations of the cars' driving ability. Or maybe that would just scare you. Actively look out for the idiots.
