BAOC has now received final approval from the OUSA Sanctioning Committee and Board of Directors to host the 2016 US Individual Championships March 18 - 20 at venues near San Francisco.

The Middle Championships will be on Friday, March 18 and the Long Championships will be on Saturday, March 19, both at Morgan Territory, near Livermore. The Sprint Championships will be Sunday, March 20 at Mills College in Oakland. March is the best time of year for orienteering in the Bay Area: the hills are green, the ground is soft, and there's very little in the way of thorns, burrs or tall grass. Morgan Territory is both the most runnable and most technical orienteering venue in the immediate Bay Area, so you can look forward to some outstanding orienteering.

Some details about the schedule and about registration are now available on the meet webpage. Registration is expected to be open before the end of November. Note that with the Middle scheduled for midday on Friday, those of you coming from a long way away will likely want to travel on Thursday at the latest.

These venues are much closer to San Francisco than most recent BAOC national events (e.g., Little Truckee Summit, Boggs Mountain, Pacheco Pass), so come out and enjoy some time in the City By The Bay as part of your orienteering trip.

Note: Get Lost's Run Black Diamond had been scheduled for that same weekend, but that event has been canceled.
