yeah but what about Spectre?
I'm seeing Spectre on Friday morning. The vibe I'm feeling going in is that it'll be pretty good, but not quite Casino Royale or Skyfall.
Yeah I've got the same vibe.
Right, there was a Spectre one too. After seeing the poster of Bond taking his daughter to work I'm nervous about it...
Now excuse me as I read a 100+ thread on control descriptions.
Of all the problems O has in North America (low participation, few juniors, etc) the control description thread is a good way to deflect discussion on real issues.
I wonder how many comments discussion on Canadian elite O athletes would top out on? 25?
I would post at least once in a thread like that.
Maybe.
I guess no comments can be read as a good thing if it is one well-oiled machine achieving top 20 results.
I would also post in that thread, as it is my aspiration to one day become a Canadian elite O athlete.
Back in the good old days the Cdn team would assign HonCan (Honourary Canadian) status to some American orienteers. Mikell Platt led the way.
How does one go about earning such status?
If I recall correctly...
I think the Honourary Canadian list is: (In no particular order).
- Peter Gagarin
- Mikell Platt
One must be of that ilk.
and I think there was a hot American actress added to the list too because she apparently orienteered once as a kid or perhaps Donaldson made the last bit up to get her on the list. Can't remember her name.
PG was added at the 1996 races in Harriman after completing a race after smashing a hole in his head.
I can't remember either. Must have been someone like Winona Ryder...that was the era.
Sidenote: No HonCan shall ever SPW. (...that was classic.)
Another sidenote: Can we get a little 'Raid The Hammer chatter/smack talk/good vibe zone' going?
(Thread or discussion somewhere)
You know, just a place where we can all share our control description strategies. ;)
I don't remember the actress at all, but I have a lot of time for Winona Ryder. She was deadly. Probably still is.
I really, really enjoyed Spectre. It exceeded my expectations.
If you're really familiar with the old Bond movies, then you'll appreciate a lot of subtle nods to the classics.
And the pre-title sequence is pretty amazing! A 5-minute track shot followed by some incredible action!
