Can you link strava to attackpoint to log your biking and running.
I have seen other sites do it, like the iceman comith MTB race. Is it possible?

If it happens, I will quit AP.

Strava will eat the world

I dont know about that, but last time I looked (today) Strava was a great training tool, and just like Attackpoint; and well training, support and motavation are the point of attackpoint. Right?

Well spoken. However, I do not quite understand what kind of link you are looking for: some kind of auto-export (or import), like Suunto Movescount and Garmin Connect have? I've looked at the Iceman page, and what I've seen there was an Iceman "Club" on Strava, and some kind of widget to display data from this group on the Iceman page. Creating an Attackpoint Club is simple enough, and Strava provides code for the widget. You could display this on your personal or log page on AP; or create a Strava group (on AP) and display the widget there...

I have a love / hate thing with Strava - it doesn't help that they seem to refuse to list Orienteering as an available activity type, yet still include few almost stationary indoor activities (e.g. Yoga)

You could just paste the web address from strava activities into your logs.

Alternatively, add a Strava widget to the bottom of your training log page; I have! Just set it as a log entry sometime in the distant future.

btw, you can also setup widgets to appear in the right column of your log page. See the "any other info for your log page" box in Settings > Profile.

that's what I did. interestingly, It looks like it will only display "runs" or "bike" and not both at the same time?

I recently found a way to auto-upload from strava into attackpoint, but its a bit convaluted... is that what you're asking for? or are you asking for the other way around?

I just love how local riders upload evidence of their illegal riding in closed areas. I downloaded and showed the resultant maps to pour local Parks staff. In return they showed me Youtube videos of same riders riding in closed areas.

"Illegal riding"

Were they dinkying?

Thanks for all the information. Bartholemeu, I guess I am a little lazy. In the past I have manually loaded all the information on the “add training” page from my Garmin, or Strava. I thought that there might already be a way that Attackpoint could just grab the data from Strava, and just fill out the “add training” automatically with all the data. Quirkey I like the Widget you have. How do you add it to the page? I also agree with the love / hate thing with Strava!

"Illegal riding"?? Well, welcome to social media, big brother is watching!
I am not sure what this has to do with my question, but interesting.

Ghost - your original question will rarely have much bearing on the various tangents that AP discussion threads take. Nobody is accusing you of anything.
Oct 9, 2015 2:05 AM #
I realize that, I always find it interesting what topics get hitchhiked onto threads. I will just go with the flow.

ken - thanks for that info on the right hand column. I've had a counter in my log for years, but thought it was a bit clunky having it attached to a fake training that I 'did' in 2050... Looks much neater over where it should be :)

The convaluted way i got it to work (as a proof of concept) is to
1. setup tapiriik ( to sync my strava/GarminConnect/etc to my dropbox.
2. I then used a dropbox automation tool called wappwolf ( to email the file whenever the new file hits my dropbox.
3. I got it to email to the email address which attackpoint has given me for fit-file upload.

Wasn't sure if Ken would approve, so haven't kept it switched on, but it worked while i was testing it!

I still don't know how to add a flag counter but I'd probably end up overloading AP with the billions of people who read my log so probably for the best.
Oct 9, 2015 7:14 AM #
Yes, it's amazing how many people really need to fall off to sleep quickly.
Oct 9, 2015 7:14 AM #
Off-topic, but Illegal riding- as in the law prohibits riding in the National Park, particularly Reference Areas, other than on one or two designated trails.
Oct 9, 2015 7:29 AM #
I rescued a frog today.
Oct 9, 2015 8:56 AM #
I want to buy something. Any recommendations?
Oct 9, 2015 9:02 AM #
The frog is not for sale.
Oct 9, 2015 10:27 AM #
I have an illegal bike that you can buy.
Oct 9, 2015 2:39 PM #
To get the widget, log into your athlete profile page of Strava. Near the bottom on the right hand side is a button called "Share my Runs". A window should then come up with code that you can copy.
To get that widget into your log the way I have, just add a Note entry to your log, paste the above code into the text box, then set the date for it sometime in the distant future (2050 in my case).

Thanks Ken for the alternative - a better one i think.

When posting the code in there, other folk might like to edit the width control on the widget code text so it aligns with everything else in that right hand column.

To do this, look in the code text for the part that says something like "width=550" and change that number (in this case to 315, or there about?).
Oct 9, 2015 6:55 PM #
Ok, back to topic.
Frog or toad?
Oct 10, 2015 2:01 AM #
Thanks the widget works great!
Oct 15, 2015 6:07 PM #
Was the Toad illegally riding?
Oct 15, 2015 8:57 PM #
It was a Frog.
