Discussion: Split WOC

What is the Australian position. I have heard that until more information on the format of the proposed split events it is hard to support from an Australian perspective as we dont know what we would be voting for and so should vote no.

At present, our position is broadly supportive in principle - noting that we voted for a similar proposal (which lost 20-16) in 2012 - but not prepared to commit until we see more details. Some of those have emerged since our original discussion (e.g. the current plan is for a qualifying race for the middle, and something equivalent to the current situation for the long), and others will likely be tabled at the meeting. Depending on how the discussion goes we may also move amendments.
