I wonder if that woman crushing it was from Baba Yaga (a women's submasters team that finished 8th overall, at a 6:07 average). They started at 1pm (so we saw them a lot early when there weren't that many teams around). They would have finished at 11:48am, so it seems about right that they would have passed you around Leg #29.

Some of their team was significantly over-40, because we heard things like 'I don't remember what it was like to turn 40, because it was so long ago", and "I'm very old."

They also had a coach that was tracking their progress on an iPad. The most impressive was at Exchange #4, when coach said that he was expecting her in 30 seconds, and started counting down, and she came through about 4 seconds off. He didn't sound surprised, tapped a few things on his iPad, and they continued about their business.

Baba Yaga was the most physically intimidating team that we saw. At the start and during the early legs, they were all wearing matching sports bras and running shorts, and they all just looked *incredibly* fit. And they also looked older, which meant that you just knew how committed they were to training since they looked *that* good at that age.

Indeed she was from Baba Yaga; we saw them at several exchanges later on. Eric ran out of road about 30s short of catching us back up to their Leg 31 gal.

Edit: 7:07 pace, not 6:07.

We encountered a van from an SGLRG women's team a few times near the end.
