My old FR 305 needs a new battery. I can't find a battery replacement service that will do it except for Garmin which wants $99 for an new refurbished unit. I can find the battery packs, but since I am all thumbs with no mechanical skills, I do not even want to attempt it. Does anybody know where I can get the battery replaced without paying $99 to Garmin?

I know one guy in Nova Scotia Canada that does a great job (my father-in-law used him)

but not sure about shipping to the US.
I did my own as it is not really that difficult and lots of very cheap battery/screwdriver kits available on ebay. Here is one example (the one I used - might be cheaper ones available now)

How did you glue it back together?

I used epoxy. A friend used silicone for his. This is really the hardest part depending on how good you want it to look.
