Travelling to Europe this summer and wondering how to get cell phone service (data and text). My Canadian provider doesn't do out-of-country coverage. Wondering if there is a convenient/affordable way to buy a prepaid Sim card in the UK or Scandinavia that will do the job.
worth reading this maybe?
http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/cheap-roam... you can certainly buy a pay-as-you-go sim in the UK and then it should be cheap in Scandinavia too.
You can get a prepaid sim card in the international arrivals area at most British airports. Some of them have relatively cheap calling back to N America.
I have found
this wiki useful for picking good prepaid operators/plans in various countries.
That is Excellent. Thanks Ken.
I ordered a card from onesim cards. You can use both European number and North American number. It also has data and texting. May not be the cheapest option out there but it's pretty convenient to manage online.
