Yesterday at the O meet I fished my epunch out of my map case, where I had put it temporarily after clearing it while I filled out a start card. After pulling it out, I reset my watch, made sure I had my compass, and then realized I had dropped my epunch. I walked back and forth looking at the grass (I was only a few steps from the registration table), checked the map case again, checked my pockets, looked around some more, and finally found it.

Between my teeth.

I'm not sure who's going to take away my car keys. Or other things.

Have always thought of O as an ultimate test of one’s memory. Look at the things we need to remember even before starting. (epunch, GPS watch, charge the GPS watch, start the GPS watch, heart rate monitor, compass, whistle, control description holder, control descriptions, glasses, clean glasses, thing that holds glasses on, headband or hat, sunscreen, gloves, gu, gookinade, number, clear, check, start time, entry fee, where to leave keys, toilet, tying pants string, shoe tying, active ankles, morning pills, morning meal, etc). Each of these I have forgotten at one time or another.

Somehow the watch is the hardest one for me. I've left it home many times, on the roof of the car a few.

Not quite there yet, but I have realized a few times at the start that I´d forgotten my compass...

I have those "senior moments" as long as I can remember myself, actually getting better later :)

Finding the event is often my biggest challenge. And remembering my O shoes.

I have forgotten my control description holder more than anything else...

Followed a fair bit back by clearing (& checking).

Forgetting to check that my insoles are in my shoes before leaving home! No insoles = harsh running. Also completely forgot my O shoes (and trail shoes) one time and had to run the course in my rubber Crocs.
