I'm considering flying up to Seattle the weekend of July 11-12 to visit a friend. Any chance you'd be up for doing o-tervals or a regular course or two at the UW on the morning of Saturday July 11? I haven't bought plane tickets yet, but I think it's going to happen.
Absolutely! It looks like there's a Street Scramble that morning but I could be persuaded to skip it in favor of UW training if that's the only time that works for you. It's a travesty that you still haven't run on that map. I'm sure we could get a nice group together.
The map was only used for the first time just 5 months ago...
Also, more new construction projects have started, so it's out of date already, haha.
Haha. College campuses do tend to get out of date really quickly...
Hmmm... that's unfortunate timing if there's a street scramble the same morning. Unfortunately, I think that is the only time that will work for me. I'm busy from noon on Saturday on, and trying to plan it Sunday late afternoon/early evening before flying out would probably just be too stressful (the friend I'm visiting and I are going to go camping somewhere in the Cascades for the rest of the weekend). I would definitely rather do a sprint training at the UW than the street Scramble and I'd love to have a group to do it with me, but I don't want to take away participation from the Street Scramble.
Tori, did you ever do the sprint interval training course I set up at North Seattle College? I can give you that to do, too.
I couldn't help noticing…. For those who care, the Street Scramble on July 11th starts at 3pm. I was looking forward to it until I noticed the time; I have Mariners tickets that night.
This Street Scramble is also free, so if you're feeling guilty about taking money away from Street Scramble, it's already paid for.
Perfect, I'm not feeling guilty anymore. I haven't had a chance to to the invervals at North Seattle Community College either. I'd be happy to run there instead. Would you guys be more likely to want to join if I ran intervals at UW or NSCC?
I can't commit to the training (I'd rather Scramble), but I can provide courses (training at NSC and Winter Series at UW). You can also do both. Hannah did both back-to-back one day!
Tori, I'm willing to set pin flags for you at UW, for example if you want to do Patrick's Course 7 from this winter's meet. It's an excellent sprint course but it is 6k, so we could also do shorter stuff instead.
Thanks for the help, guys! I really appreciate it. Hmmm... I'm not sure yet what distance I'd want to do. Let me think about that and get back to you.
Technically, it wasn't a sprint course. It's a Long Advanced on a ISSOM map, so that's why it's 6 km.
Ok, I think my plan is to run at the UW that morning. I would like to do o-tervals, but I could probably do that on the long advanced course and just run fast for a few controls then jog a control or two and then run fast again. I'll send out an email closer to the time with details in case anyone wants to join.
Sweet! I can certainly put together some o-terval maps for you.
