There may be a $5 entry fee per car if there is someone at the booth when you drive into the park.
There could be traffic delays on the Pike if you're coming from the East due to the Westover air show. Consider coming on the earlier side, or taking route 2.
In any case, because controls won't be picked up until 3:00, those who I am confident can get back before then can start after 12:00.
Finally, mosquitos are out in full force. They don't bother you when you're running. But if plan to do a lot of walking, or hanging around, you might want protection.
