I don't think I have seen so may different streamers in the bush before.

In addition to being a pit in the green, the contours were too general here - it really needed to be clearer where it dropped away into the main gully (and that the pit was at the back of the flatter ground above). I was starting to wonder whether I could be bothered doing a grid search when I saw it.

I wasn't too sure what was going on at 16 either, but saw the flag.

16 cost me a significant amount of time. Once I had relocated, I almost missed it again. I was pretty lucky with 15. I was too far north, but found it without any more than 30-40 seconds lost.

Ha! You fellows had nothing on my difficulties.
By the time I got to them I found 14,15 and 16 all inside a bogged Subaru. It was a fair trade - I got them unbogged and punched the controls with record splits from 14-15-16. However they couldn't explain what possessed the organisers to send them out at 1pm to bring in the final controls at 1:30pm when we'd been told the courses closed at 2pm. Start times were 10am-12pm.

I found the streamers too, except many more times confusing because there were no controls to be seen where I thought they should be.

Its all our fault. We plied the course setter and organiser with champagne and more at Ceira's 18th on Saturday night! Stopped plying after they showed us the map. We planned our Sunday then. Julie read a book and I went down to test run the Ironman courses under lovely blue skies. If you want to do real orienteering closer to Melbourne than Bendigo, a price must be paid.
Seriously, isn't it a surprise how the arrival of the Sunley family has helped reinvigorate Tuckonie. In two years two remaps close to Melbourne. I think it might have been Julie S's first attempt at bush course setting. At this point I might say 'I hope you all gave her heaps of encouragement', but encouraging Julie Sunley on anything is probably both unnecessary and dangerous! ;-)

Don't worry - she got well dampened today. Fortunately I was able to shelter in the BK tent during the hail.
At this rate she'll surpass my reputation for organising rain.

It was Julie's first attempt at bush-o course setting and an excellent effort. Had 91 starters which is not bad for a Sunday Special event so far from Melbourne.

Good to see Keith Wade too.
