RWorner:
ROC will be hosting the World Deaf Orienteering Masters and Elite Championships from August 5-9. The schedule will be,

(5th) Wednesday, Model at at Mendon Ponds West.
(6th) Sprint (AM), Sprint Really (PM) at RIT
(7th) Friday, Middle at Mendon Ponds East.
(8th) Saturday, Long at Letchworth East.
(9th) Sunday, Team Relay and Masters Chase at Mendon East.

Although the event is not open to the hearing public, volunteers will be able run the courses after the events each day free of charge. Courses will be designed by Linda Kohn and Lindsay Worner. We are expecting 60-80 deaf competitors so the start windows will be quite short. This will give you lots of extra time to visit the Finger Lakes, Lake Ontario and nearby NYS state parks like Letchworth. Camping and cabins will be available at Letchworth and Webster Park.
The Henrietta area near Mendon Ponds and RIT has a large selection of hotels and motels in all price ranges. Rochester is a very nice location in the summer.

Complete information on the event can be found at http://www.wdoc2015.org/

If you are interested in helping out please contact us at wornerkohn@gmail.com

We look forward to seeing you this August.
