Condes is course planning software. The latest version has just been released. Cost is $340USD for a club license, $240USD for an upgrade from Version 7. The demo version supports small events with 2 courses or less.

I have been Beta testing Condes 8 for both the Canadian Team trials and the 2007 Canadian Champs. It is a superb tool for course planners with many time-saving and error-eliminating features.

The new version is a complete re-working of the user interface and comes with a comprehensive online help system (including videos) that will make learning how to use it much simpler.

From the Condes website:

It is with excitement (and a little bit of apprehension) that I now officially release Condes 8. After several years of hard work, and a thorough beta test, Condes 8 is now generally available.

I think I can safely say that there new features will be welcomed by course planners. Condes 8 functionality is based on a lot of input from users. There are still features that I would like to have been able to include, and the work will continue.

New to version 8 is also that you can use the program without a license for events with 2 courses and 25 controls. This so-called "light" license is at the same time the demo version.

Thanks to Jouni Laaksonen and to Andreas Drexhage, who have put many hours into translating the program into Finnish and German. A Swedish translation is underway (for later this year), and other languages are under consideration.

I hope you will enjoy the program.

Having played with the beta version, I concur. It has many good changes, including a few we suggested. It will make planning for large events easier.
