Yes.. we have gone through this already. Not sure if we can reschedule but at this point with 18" of snow and buried controls, concealed cave entrances, negative low temps so no way to set the remainder of the controls, I had no choice but to cancel. Those who paid will be refunded. Not sure if we can reschedule or not.

Very sorry to hear this, but it can't be helped. Most of Kentucky got buried yesterday.

The OCIN meet at Seven Hills Park on Sunday will go on as scheduled. We had much less snow than Louisville. So for those who were planning to go to Otter Creek, you're welcome to join us instead. No pre-registration, just show up Sunday.

mike--how are things looking for the area around Crystal Cave in three weeks? Any current measurements on the snow level there, and any longer-term forecasting about when there might be some days warm enough to do some melting? Here in upstate NY there is still quite a fair amount of snow on the ground, and not a lot of warmer weather expected soon (we only had about 6 hours above freezing in February in Ithaca, a very small fraction of the hours that were 40 or more F degrees colder), but I know that most years your part of the world starts warming up a lot sooner than we do! I'm certainly hoping that the weather will cooperate with the Flying Pig this year.

We are a lot more south than upstate New York. The long-term weather models (out to 16 days) shows it being cold for about a week, and then a long warming period. I am hopeful. But it is the Flying Pig, and you never know what you're gonna get.

Both Morehead and Carter County will get down to about zero tonight. I don't know exactly how much this latest storm dropped, and a final line of light snow is moving across that area right now.

The good news is mid 40's and sunny on Saturday and Sunday, mid 50's and sun on Monday and Tuesday. So we should start to get some good melting. After that, we will just have to see what happens.

Otter Creek fans, stay tuned for a possible rescheduling announcement. Can't say any more about that yet...
