Itching for spring? The best way to get in gear for the season is to register for the Goat!

With more race info here.

Goat care info should be found elsewhere.

Thanks for posting the info and registration link!

One slight wording adjustment you might want to make is to clarify that the finisher shirts are only for those running the Billygoat, and not Kid-finishers under 3:30 which could be implied as it's currently written (as of 2:58EST).

You can't fool us. That terrain porn has obviously been Photoshopped. Where is all the snow?? We demand to know where all the snow is!

Incidentally, the Billygoat is one of the few places you can still get a facsimile of classic orienteering anymore, aside from competing in an IOF elite-oriented long race (i.e., the WOC Long, generally accepted as the pinnacle of the sport.)

Classic orienteering is done with a 1:15,000 map.

Count yourself in the same company as luminaries like Øyvin Thon, Annichen Kringstad, Simone, and Tero. Where else is this going to happen? (*)

Only at #Billygoat2015.

(*) But, we are not ideologues. You can still technically earn an official finisher shirt, even come in first, opting to compete with a 1:10,000 map. But, there will be a special prize for the top finisher who rolls old school with a 1:15,000, as only a true billygoat would.

Everybody has opted for 1:10000 so far. Billygoat rules being what they are, an interesting strategy might be for someone who has no intention of looking at the map to take a 1:15000 version.

Not everybody. Mr. Smith is clearly not everybody. He is a rare breed, and the goat is strong in him.

A rare breed indeed - an orienteer with young eyes.

Young eyes, but an old soul. A formidable force indeed.

Well, it was everybody when I wrote that...

(I wonder whether Ian took my suggestion -- he might have fared better in 2014 with a bit of shameless following...)

The Billygoat has risen, and did not see his shadow. He is likely off now frolicking with the Easter Bunny. He has declared the terrain snow-free and open for business!

Phew, snow free! I'll bet the Billygoat's shins feel better now.
