Did you hear about the (Adelaide) Hills Football League?
Echunga won the A-grade premiership but was to be relegated due to the poor performance of its B-grade and junior teams based on points accrued throughout the season. They successfully appealed against this demotion in the Supreme Court - because the HFL by-laws don't specifically state if this calculation ceases at the end of the minor round (as everybody knows it does) or if it continues into the finals series!
Of course, it wasn't possible to not promote Mt Lofty which had made its way into the finals (after being demoted the previous year to elevate Echunga in 2014), so this season the competition has an extra team and is $50 000 in legal fees poorer...
