Happy 2015!

What was a favorite orienteering (or other outdoors) memory from 2014? And what orienteering are you most looking forward to in 2015?

Oh Zan, you do try hard!

My favourite orienteering in 2014 was chasing the Juniors through Catalina State Park. I didn't like the bit where I rescued Addie from a cholla though :s

The second one is easy - I am super excited about the Scottish 6 Day and WOC mega combo this summer!

Fave 2014: Canadian nationals at whistler. Great O followed by great food at local restaurants each day.
Not to mention great tourism.
2015: Scottish 6-day and WOC spectating (and scotch).

2014: ORingen. While ORingen is always fun, I wasn't looking forward to the usual logistical hassles of this monster. However, this year the latter was manageable and the orienteering excellent all the way through to the finish.
2015: Nuuk O Fest in Greenland. I hope we can make it happen. I want to see the penguins. This kind. The big furry kind.

2014 NAOC middle
2015 Scottish 6 days and WOC. Excited to run in the variety of great terrain, especially Darnaway which was used in WOC 1976 and I last ran there in 1978.

2014 - Karrack Karnival was the best, from the O, to the weather, and to seeing family. CO was great as well.
2015 - will see....

Really the weather? It bucketed down on two days!

Anyway that just happens to be my 2014 highlight too, including the Sprint the SW events plus MTBO (no bias, seriously).

2015 I'm looking forward to the Aus nationals in Ballarat.

Walk, does your non-standard rain go up?

Ugh, I may have to reivse my 'looking forward to' event since I'd have to fly out of Melbourne on the AFL Grand Final weekend and flights are ridiculously expensive so might have to give it a miss :-( Stupid football.

tR - We didn't do the Relay and had forgotten that day as an O day. We had a family day at a brew pub in Freo harbor. Very enjoyable and did think of you all. We went to South Beach to check out where Lyn learned to swim and got sand blasted trying to get to the beach. In doing so, we passed Porto-potties set up for the Freo Half Marathon blown over on their side. Yes a nasty day when the Doctor is in.

The rest of our stay was delightful and look for an excuse to do so again.

2014: Day two of the Thanksgiving training camp with the NYC Russians, Zan Armstrong, Ian Smith and the rest of the posse. Sergei Zhyk's courses were fantastic. I felt like all of us were working really well together through all the exercises. Boris lifted all of our spirits in creatively calling out start groups during the intervals. Collaborative running of the old Eagle Rock course with Boris and Ian in the evening was a total bonus.

2015: Hudson Highlander (if it transpires).

2014: Running Tiomila with CSU - the relay itself, the atmosphere, seeing all the orienteering stars, games afterward, good cheer, and visiting my eurofriends.

2015: Scotland

Thanks for getting this started, Zan!
