Alex Bergstrom and I are going to be spending March (and the first week of April for me) in Europe orienteering. If anyone is already planning on doing the same or would otherwise like to join us we'd love to join forces.

Here is our plan:
Here's Alex and my plan for the spring:

We'll fly into Trieste, Italy, on Febrary 26th in the afternoon. From there we'll rent a car for 2.5 weeks. On the 14th of March we'll either drop the car off in Trieste and take the train to Milan or we'll drive to Milan and drop the car off at the airport there. We are then flying from Milan to Madrid in the evening for a few weeks in spain. I will be flying to Scotland on the 24th or 25th of March to train specifically for WOC 2015 and flying home on the 8th of April or thereabouts. Alex will be flying hom from Spain around the same time I fly to Scotland.

We will be orienteering around 6 of 7 days throughout the trip sometimes twice per day and will be going to the following races. Don't feel that you need to do as much training as we do - if you want to do more that's fine too!

Feb 28 - March 1: Kvarner Bay Challenge in Croatia (kbchallenge.com)
March 7-11: Lipica Open in Slovenia (lipicaopen.com)
March 21-22: Canal de Castilla in Spain (orcapalencia.com/web/competitions/canal-de-castilla-international-trophy)
April 3-6: the JK in the UK - not Alex (www.thejk.org.uk/jk2015/)

You're welcome to join us for as much or as little of the trip as you'd like. Feel free to extend the invitation to whomever might be interested. The more the merrier!

Keep in touch for when you come to Spain. I no longer live in Madrid. I am about 40 minutes outside the city. You're welcome to stay in my mountain village.

That would be fun. Once we've firmed up plans a bit more I'll let you know. Which direction from Madrid are you?

I am north of the city. I have about 10 great maps within 20km of my house. And some great training partners.

Car rentals in ITA are expensive. See if you can rent it in another country.

Thanks for the tip coach. We'll have a look at that.
