Discussion: Valparaiso

Is worth it! Got to see a moai there - if can't get to Easter Is it's the next best thing. Loved Valparaiso but I really liked Santiago too, though as it was the first city in SA it was a huge culture shock - the noise of horns in the street was incredible.

Being the last city for me in South America, it seemed reasonably sedate (though I haven't yet been there on a weekday - tomorrow morning might be a bit more of a test).

...and weekdays are different - I'm currently hearing a fairly continuous horn symphony below from the 24th floor.

I was woken by a midnight horn symphony when staying on Flinders St in Melbourne the other week - and was duly unimpressed.
