You are doing well. Most of the streets we encountered were cobbled or similar, though we didn't get very far out of town on foot. I think they might have been in a certain area and we made sense of it as being in a snow area for a good part fo the year. Yes the chocolate is wonderful - glad you got some. The views from Chairlift area were the best. Felt they would have made a good jigsaw picture. Hope you get the chance to see the Miladon cave. If you don't know about it check it out) - amazing! Really worth it!I think you'd be able to get transport to it. Interesting signage in various places about landmines! Los Glaceros brilliant in the right weather, but pretty spectacular at any time.

Looked up the Miladon cave. I suspect I'll have a half-day in Puerto Natales on either side of Torres del Paine, so may well be feasible.

It appears Bariloche does intend to do something about their suburban streets because I saw a sign for the 'Plan Municipal de Pavemintacion', but I don't think 1.8 million pesos is going to get them very far.

We stayed at Torres del Paine itself - magnificent. Crossing the tiny bridge on the way in was funny - folding in of the wing mirrors necessary. Hopefully there is a new bridge - bit wonky.
