A few months ago the Foothills Wanderers Orienteering Club in Calgary approached Impact Magazine about running an article on orienteering. Impact is a free glossy magazine distributed in Alberta and British Columbia with a circulation of 45,000 copies.

The outcome is a two page article in the just released July/August edition focussing on sprint orienteering and written by FWOC's own Nicki Rehn.

Hmmm, just noticed the rest of my post somehow got lost … I think it said:

The article features comments by FWOC luminaries, some stylish photos (also by Nicki) and contacts for the Alberta, BC and Canadian associations. The article is targeted at participants in other sports who might get some training benefit or simply enjoyment from doing a sprint.

The best news is that the editor of Impact is very enthusiastic about orienteering and plans to run more articles.

I'll post a copy of the article here if we're able to get one. If you do get hold of a copy, we'd be interested to hear your thoughts and also any suggestions for future stories.
